On October 3rd, many families at the foot of Langbiang Mountain were still urgently dealing with the aftermath of the heavy rain on the afternoon of October 2nd. In the flower gardens that had just been swept away by the raging floodwaters, branches and leaves lay scattered, mud covered the roots, and debris clung to every plant bed. All the hard work, capital, and hopes of the flower growers are at risk of being completely lost.

People are working hard to overcome the consequences of the floods.

In the approximately 6-acre flower garden of Mr. Le Van Dieu's family, located on 19/5 Street, Langbiang Ward, Da Lat , the traces of the flood are still clearly visible. Mr. Dieu said that the water from upstream rushed in too quickly, rising nearly 2 meters, instantly submerging the entire rose garden which was in its harvesting period.

Mr. Dieu's family is mobilizing all members to urgently clean up and collect debris stuck on the trees, while also using water to wash away the mud clinging to the trunks and leaves in the hope of salvaging the remaining flower garden that can still recover. However, the recovery work is facing many difficulties as the pumping system used for production is flooded and damaged, directly affecting the cleaning and care of the flower garden after the flood.

Large areas of flower gardens suffered severe damage due to flash floods.

Not far away, about 3 acres of newly grafted roses belonging to Mr. Hoang Van Lieu's family were also swept away by the floodwaters, causing heavy damage. When the water receded, a thick layer of mud covered the garden, burying many young rose bushes and threatening their ability to grow and recover.

Faced with the difficult situation of Mr. Lieu's family, on October 3rd, dozens of neighbors and fellow villagers came together to help mitigate the damage. Some raked, some shoveled, and others transported mud and soil out of the garden, trying to clear the area around the roots so that the flowering plants could recover and sprout again.

Agricultural machinery was submerged in water, causing damage.

The collective efforts and support of the local community not only helped alleviate the overwhelming workload after the floods but also provided motivation for flower-growing households to overcome this difficult period.

Earlier, on the afternoon of October 2nd, heavy rain lasting about an hour caused a large volume of water to flow down from the upstream of Langbiang Mountain. The fast-flowing water rose rapidly, flooding agricultural areas in low-lying regions, causing localized flooding of many roads and flower gardens. Some rose gardens were deeply submerged, with mud, soil, and debris carried by the water, seriously affecting production.

Currently, the People's Committee of Langbiang Ward, Da Lat, is compiling statistics on the extent of damage in the affected areas. This will serve as a basis for advising and proposing to relevant authorities to consider providing assistance to families facing difficulties, helping them to stabilize their lives and restore production as soon as possible.
