Vietnamese martial artists performed outstandingly in both the forms and sparring categories. Ultimately, the team won a total of 33 medals, including 32 gold and 1 silver, placing them at the top of the overall medal standings.
The outstanding gold medal percentage is a remarkable achievement for the Vietnamese delegation at the tournament, which brought together martial artists from many different martial arts traditions. This achievement further demonstrates that Vietnamese traditional martial arts are not only being maintained and developed domestically but are also making an increasingly significant mark on the international stage.
Among the standout competitors was martial artist Nguyen Giang Son. In the men's 68kg weight class, the Vietnamese fighter successively defeated opponents from Italy, Nigeria, and Saudi Arabia to win the championship.
Two athletes from Thanh Hoa , Tran Thi Hau and Truong Thi Quynh Vy, also contributed important gold medals to the Vietnamese team, winning titles in the women's under 64kg and under 60kg weight categories respectively.
The results in Italy further affirm Vietnam's position in the international traditional martial arts competition system. The team winning 32 gold medals out of a total of 33 demonstrates the consistent skill level of Vietnamese martial artists and reflects the effectiveness of the selection, training, and preparation process.
More importantly, the tournament is an opportunity for Vietnamese traditional martial arts to showcase the unique values of a martial art that has been formed, preserved, and developed over many generations.
The presence of over 500 coaches and athletes from 29 countries also demonstrates the growing popularity of Vietnamese traditional martial arts. International tournaments like the one in Italy not only create an environment for competition and professional exchange but also contribute to expanding the community of Vietnamese traditional martial arts practitioners in many countries.
