The Maritime Economic Forum, initiated and coordinated by Nha Trang University, operates on an open cooperation model, aiming to create a central point for receiving needs, connecting resources, monitoring progress, and promoting concrete collaborative results. Accordingly, localities, businesses, associations, and organizations can present practical problems related to the maritime economy; Nha Trang University, along with its network of partners, connects experts, research groups, laboratories, training capabilities, consultants, and relevant technologies to research, propose solutions, and implement tasks.

Priority areas for cooperation include: high-tech marine aquaculture and seafood processing; exploitation, cultivation and protection of aquatic resources; logistics, port services, shipbuilding industry and marine engineering; sustainable marine tourism and coastal community livelihoods; marine environment, circular economy and marine biotechnology; offshore renewable energy, digital transformation , innovation and development of marine human resources…

The forum's members include government agencies, local authorities, institutes, universities, scientific organizations, businesses, and associations. During the period 2026-2030, the forum aims to expand the number of participating entities, form a network of regularly operating partners, create knowledge products, support the solution of practical problems, and promote programs and projects with the potential for implementation.

Immediately after the launch ceremony, the MEF Steering Committee held its first meeting to finalize the organizational and coordination mechanisms; review the Q4 2026 activity plan and set the direction for tasks in 2027.

Nha Trang University signs a cooperation agreement with the Vietnam Fisheries Association.

The forum creates additional channels for accessing expert resources, data, scientific arguments, and advice, supporting management agencies and localities in developing programs, plans, policies, and addressing practical issues in marine economic development.

For businesses and associations, the forum opens up opportunities to connect needs related to technology, human resource training, market research, quality improvement, digital transformation, green transformation, and product development with the professional network of Nha Trang University and its partners.

MEF's activities also provide learners with access to real-world problems, experts, businesses, and new technological trends; thereby contributing to the innovation of training content, enhancing practical learning, and preparing human resources suitable for the development needs of marine economic sectors.
