At the meeting, writer and director Nguyen Quang Vinh, Director of Viet Su Film Studio, reported on the planned production of the television series "Father, Son & Homeland". The series is expected to have 40 episodes and will be seriously invested in terms of content, artistry, and documentation.
At the heart of the film is the figure of Deputy Scholar Nguyen Sinh Sac – a patriotic, compassionate, and noble scholar who had a deep connection with the people of Southern Vietnam, especially the Dong Thap region. Through this, the film not only portrays the life of Nguyen Sinh Sac but also explores the sacred father-son relationship, highlighting the profound influence of his character, morality, and love for his homeland that he passed on to his son, Nguyen Sinh Cung – Nguyen Tat Thanh – President Ho Chi Minh .
The film aims to commemorate two historically significant events: the 100th anniversary of the death of Deputy Scholar Nguyen Sinh Sac (1929 - 2029) and the 140th anniversary of the birth of President Ho Chi Minh (1890 - 2030).
The unit recommends that the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee pay attention to and support the policy, introduce and connect social resources to support the film project; and at the same time, create conditions for surveying, selecting locations and coordinating filming in the locality.
During the meeting, Comrade Phan Van Thang highly appreciated the historical significance, traditional education , and artistic value of the film project "Father, Son & Fatherland". He also requested that Viet Su Film Studio promptly finalize a detailed proposal for the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee to review and direct relevant departments and agencies to coordinate and create the most favorable conditions for the unit during the project's implementation in the locality.
