According to the Ministry of Finance 's report, the average CPI for the first nine months increased by 4.52%, while global oil prices are putting strong pressure on the economy.

At the meeting, the Prime Minister directed that electricity prices should not be increased and that further research should be conducted on solutions to regulate prices in line with electricity and petroleum prices. The Chairmen of the People's Committees of localities were instructed to manage the prices of goods in their respective areas.

Government ministries and agencies must ensure the supply of essential goods such as food, building materials, and medicine. At the same time, authorities need to increase inspections and strictly punish hoarding, speculation, and smuggling.

According to reports presented at the meeting, electricity and fuel supplies have been ensured, and the regulation and increased exploitation of hydropower have contributed to maintaining supply and preventing electricity price increases in the first few months of the year.

Electricity production in the first nine months reached 266.2 billion kWh, an increase of 9.5% compared to the same period last year. In the fourth quarter, the Ministry of Industry and Trade will continue to exploit domestic primary energy sources, reducing dependence on imported oil, gas, and coal; coordinate the regulation of hydropower reservoirs and respond to El Nino.

Minister of Industry and Trade Le Manh Hung stated that the government will accelerate the progress of key energy and industrial projects. He also requested that localities synchronize power generation planning with the power grid, especially the grid below 220 kV, and proactively balance supply capacity when attracting large-scale power projects.

The Prime Minister instructed the Ministry of Industry and Trade and businesses to ensure a sufficient supply of electricity and petroleum products. He also directed the early submission and implementation of the revised Power Development Plan VIII and the restructuring of EVN. In addition, he instructed the completion and submission of a decree on petroleum business and increased coal and oil and gas exploitation.

The Ministry of Finance, acting as the permanent agency of the Price Management Steering Committee, is tasked with coordinating with other ministries and agencies to update detailed monthly CPI scenarios in order to proactively manage the market.
