In recent days, residents of Thuan Thanh ward, Bac Ninh city, have been astonished to witness a four-story villa being moved as a whole unit on a specialized roller system, heading towards a new plot of land about 400 meters from its original location.

Nearly a month of moving meter by meter.

The building has a construction area of approximately 243 m² per floor, with a total floor area of nearly 970 m², situated on a 517 m² plot of land with three street frontages. The villa is slated for demolition to make way for the road project connecting Gia Binh Airport with Hanoi .

After nearly a month of moving just 400 meters, the villa, weighing hundreds of tons, has reached its destination.

Instead of dismantling it, the homeowner decided to keep the entire structure and hire a professional company to relocate the entire villa, weighing hundreds of tons, to a new location.

This is a complex task, requiring the construction unit to carefully calculate each step to ensure the structural integrity of the building during lifting, jacking, and moving.

To move the large reinforced concrete block, the construction unit mobilized dozens of skilled engineers and workers along with a specialized hydraulic equipment system that operated continuously for many days.

For nearly a month, the villa was moved in sections using specialized equipment. Each step was checked and adjusted to ensure the structure was not affected.

By September 24th, the villa had been moved approximately 200 meters, with about 200 meters remaining to complete the journey. By October 4th, the structure was moved to its new location.

Previously, on September 24th, the villa, weighing hundreds of tons, had reached its halfway point to its new location.

The representative of the construction company, known by the nickname "the genie," said that moving the villa was not a simple task, as the structure was large and complex, while the distance to be moved was hundreds of meters.

"The biggest challenge was ensuring the safety of the structure throughout the entire moving process. Every step had to be carefully calculated, from lifting and jacking to moving, because even a small mistake could affect the entire structure of the house. There were times when the team was under a lot of pressure, having to check and recheck everything before continuing," a representative of the construction company shared.

According to this source, for nearly a month, the construction team has had to closely monitor the site every day, handling every unforeseen situation to ensure the villa is moved according to plan.

"Today, with the house now in its proper place, we are truly happy and relieved. This was a large project, a long journey, so everyone was under pressure. Seeing the project completed safely, all the fatigue from the past month has almost completely disappeared," said a representative of the construction company.

After cutting the pillars away from the old foundation, the "miracle workers" used hydraulic jacks to lift the house, then placed it on a roller system for transportation.

The representative stated that after the relocation is complete, the unit will continue to coordinate the necessary steps to stabilize the structure and hand it over to the family.

The homeowner is looking forward to returning to the villa after a nearly month-long trip.

After nearly a month of being lifted, jacked up, and moved in sections, the four-story villa in Bac Ninh has finally arrived at its new location. For Mr. Nguyen Cong Son, the owner of the property, this is the moment his family has been waiting for, after days of watching the house move step by step from the outside.

Mr. Son said his family had spent many years saving up to build the house. When the Gia Binh - Hanoi road project was implemented, the family agreed to hand over the land for the project. However, faced with the demolition plan, the family regretted losing the structure they had been attached to for many years, so they sought to move it as a whole.

“My family supports the project and is ready to hand over the land. But the house was built many years ago and holds many memories, so it would be a great loss if it had to be demolished. Therefore, we decided to find a way to relocate,” Mr. Son said.

For almost a month, every time the house was moved a little further, the family would stand outside and watch. The distance of a few hundred meters wasn't long, but with a structure weighing hundreds of tons, the move required caution at every step.

"There were times when the family was worried, especially while the house was being moved. But when the house finally arrived safely at its new location, we were very happy and relieved," Mr. Son shared.

The villa has been moved to its new location and is currently being secured, with the foundation being completed.

The family is urgently completing the final touches, from adjusting some items to reconnecting the electrical and plumbing systems. Once everything is finished, the family will return to live in the house.

The nearly month-long journey of moving the villa attracted the attention of local residents. Many people came to watch, take photos, and record videos . Images of the house being lifted and moved in sections also received a lot of attention on social media.

The villa, which was slated for demolition to make way for a transportation project, has been moved as a whole to a new location approximately 400 meters from its old residence. The family is now only waiting for the final touches to be completed before moving back in.
