The Qatari pair maintained their composure in the tough final against Indonesia to add another ASIAD title to their collection, following victories in Jakarta-Palembang 2018 and Hangzhou 2022. Both continue to solidify their position among Asia's top beach volleyball doubles pairs.
This latest success further elevates Qatar's standing in Asian beach volleyball and solidifies Younousse and Tijan's reputation as one of the most successful doubles pairs. The pair made history at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, winning a bronze medal – Qatar's first Olympic medal in beach volleyball. Since then, they have continued to add to their collection of titles.
The victory at the 20th Asian Games capped off an outstanding 2026 for Younousse and Tijan, who were honored as the Best Men's Beach Volleyball Players in Asia in 2026, and won the gold medal at the 2026 Asian Beach Games .
Qatar Volleyball Federation President Ali bin Ghanem Al Kuwari said the gold medal at the 2026 Aichi-Nagoya Olympics laid the foundation for the national team's achievements in recent years, and praised the high level of performance displayed by Younousse and Tijan throughout the tournament.
He added that the latest success will further motivate the team as they head towards upcoming international tournaments, with plans already in place to ensure the team is fully prepared to compete at the highest level and continue bringing titles and good results to Qatari beach volleyball.
