With the theme "One Asia," symbolizing the unity of Asia through shared emotions, the ceremony was brief but full of color and sound, before witnessing Japan handing over the hosting rights for the 21st Asian Games to Doha (the host country in 2030).
Despite the criticism surrounding the organization of the 20th Asian Games over the past two weeks, the Director-General of the Asian Olympic Council, Husain Al-Musallam, affirmed that the event was a great success.
"The numbers are proof; 50 world records were broken at the event. Athletes can't perform well without good sleep, nor can they reach peak performance without convenient transportation," he said.
