National hero Nguyen Trung Truc was one of the most prominent leaders of the anti-French resistance movement in Southern Vietnam in the latter half of the 19th century. His name, life, and career are inextricably linked to the patriotism, indomitable will, and unwavering resistance against foreign invaders of the people of Southern Vietnam, becoming a shining symbol of national heroism.

Following the incense offering ceremony, the delegation of people, military, and Party officials from An Giang province offered incense at the Memorial Temple for Heroes, Martyrs, and Meritorious Individuals of An Giang Province.

On the same day, the People's Committee of An Giang province held a ceremony to light incense at the monument marking the spot where national hero Nguyen Trung Truc was executed by the French colonialists in 1868.

This year, the traditional festival commemorating the 158th anniversary of the sacrifice of national hero Nguyen Trung Truc will be held from October 6th to 8th (corresponding to the 26th to 28th of the 8th lunar month), with many commemorative, cultural, and artistic activities, contributing to the education of patriotic traditions for the younger generation.
