Synchronizing multiple solutions to improve the quality of community tourism.

The Gia Lai Provincial People's Council has just issued Resolution No. 96/2026/NQ-HĐND stipulating policies to support the development of community tourism in Gia Lai province for the period 2026 – 2030.

Accordingly, the province will have policies to support the development of community tourism destinations under projects, plans, and programs for community tourism development approved by competent authorities, or community tourism destinations that have already been recognized.

The support includes: Loans for investment in new construction, renovation, or expansion of housing for tourism accommodation businesses in the form of homestays; purchasing blankets, sheets, pillows, mattresses, sanitary equipment, kitchen equipment, and food service equipment…

At the same time, the province will have policies to support the purchase and supplementation of new equipment for waste collection such as pushcarts, public trash cans, etc.; and to build centralized waste collection points.

To stimulate tourism and increase the number of visitors, Gia Lai will also provide funding for the promotion and advertising of community tourism; support learning and exchange of experiences in developing community tourism; build connections between destinations and provide general information about community tourism routes; and organize activities to connect travel businesses, survey products, and bring tourists to community tourism destinations.

Authorities plan to invest in and upgrade transportation routes and tourism infrastructure (welcome gates, miniature landscapes, photo spots); and to invest in the construction of new reception and exhibition buildings, tourist parking lots, and public restrooms at community tourism destinations.

This is a timely and practical resolution aimed at supporting the development of community tourism, a sector with great potential thanks to Gia Lai's forest and marine resources.

These supporting initiatives contribute to building an image of an environmentally friendly tourist destination, creating a positive impression on visitors, moving towards a professional and in-depth tourism industry, and enhancing the visitor experience.

"Seed capital" to activate a vibrant tourism industry.

At the 6th (special) session of the Gia Lai Provincial People's Council, 13th term (2026-2031), on September 30, 2026, the Provincial People's Council also considered and approved many important resolutions. Among them was Resolution No. 95/2026/NQ-HĐND on policies to support and attract international tourists via non-scheduled international flights to Phu Cat Airport during the 2026-2027 period.

The province provides a subsidy of 200 million VND per charter flight to Phu Cat Airport. The province also offers a 50% reduction in entrance fees and ticket prices for international travel agencies organizing tours for international groups to destinations such as the Science and Innovation Discovery Center, the Twin Towers, and the Banh It Tower.

The total estimated funding required to implement the policy to support attracting tourists during the 2026-2027 period is 94 billion 947 million VND.

The development of policies to support international charter flights is crucial for expanding markets, attracting tourists, increasing spending, promoting destinations, and fostering regional connectivity.

Given the growing trend among international tourists to prioritize safe, affordable, convenient, and well-connected destinations, especially those with direct flights, this policy is expected to provide impetus for the development of the local tourism industry.

According to the Gia Lai Provincial People's Committee, the implementation of this new mechanism and policy is unprecedented, based on the spirit of Resolution No. 26 of the Politburo on developing tourism in Vietnam into a key economic sector.

By 2030, Gia Lai aims to welcome 18.5 million tourists, including 1.1 million international visitors; tourism revenue is expected to reach approximately 45,500 billion VND. The province strives to attract investment in accommodation facilities with around 33,000 rooms; average length of stay is targeted at 3 days; and over 25,000 people directly involved in tourism services have received training and professional development.
