On the morning of October 3rd, Thuong Cat High School (Thuong Cat Ward, Hanoi) organized a communication program on preventing social evils and school violence for the 2026-2027 school year. Principal Nguyen Thi Thu Nga explained that this is an important activity that the school pays close attention to in order to help students understand and strictly comply with legal regulations.
Currently, high school students are undergoing a period of rapid physical and psychological development, as well as personality formation. Proactively equipping them with basic knowledge about the law, preventing school violence, and combating drug abuse and e-cigarette use is of strategic importance to individual students, the educational environment, and society as a whole.

As a speaker, Major Le Quynh Mai from the Faculty of Law, People's Security Academy, emphasized that raising awareness of law compliance helps students clearly understand their rights, obligations, and responsibilities as citizens. By understanding the boundary between legal and illegal actions, students will proactively adjust their behavior, avoiding legal risks due to a lack of understanding.
Through stories and specific examples, the speaker provided students with information about the concept, harmful effects, identification methods, and prevention strategies for various types of drugs currently posing a risk of infiltrating the school environment, including e-cigarettes. Vietnamese law has many detailed regulations prohibiting the production, transportation, storage, sale, and use of narcotic substances, with various penalties.
"At this age, teenagers have a need to explore the world and want to assert themselves. If they are not vigilant, just a sweet temptation and even a large sum of money can inadvertently lead them to assist in the illegal trafficking of drugs and get into legal trouble. Therefore, we need to be extremely cautious of any invitation or assistance whose true nature we are not sure of," Major Le Quynh Mai noted.

Another important point is the importance of civilized behavior online and skills in preventing school violence. Teenagers are particularly vulnerable to being drawn into unhealthy trends and online scams; they are even easily exploited and incited by malicious individuals to engage in illegal activities. They need to remain calm and take a moment to verify information before making any comments online.
Also at the program, Major Vu Viet Dung from the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Department ( Hanoi City Police) instructed students on how to identify, handle, and ensure safety in the event of a fire or explosion. He emphasized that toxic smoke and gas are the most dangerous elements in a fire; in such situations, one should move low to the ground, use a damp cloth to cover the airways to gradually escape the fire, and seek assistance from professional firefighters.
