According to the BBC and Kyiv Independent, the attack occurred this morning (October 3), damaging the road surface and overhead power lines for trams on the Pivnichnyi Bridge (North Bridge), Klitschko said.

This move comes after the South Bridge, another important bridge in Kyiv, was repeatedly attacked by Russian drones since October 1st. Earlier, Klitschko warned that such attacks were "tearing Kyiv apart."

The two bridges connecting the eastern and western parts of the Ukrainian capital had never been attacked before October 1st. Observers suggest this indicates that Moscow's attacks on Kyiv may be entering a new phase.

In a Telegram message on the morning of October 3rd, Klitschko wrote: "The North Bridge has been attacked. Emergency forces are en route to the scene. Traffic on the bridge in the direction from left to right bank is currently blocked."

Previous attacks on the South Bridge forced the Kyiv Defense Council to hold an emergency meeting on October 2nd. Following the meeting, Klitschko said the city was in a "very serious situation".

Russian President Vladimir Putin said Moscow acted in response to Ukraine's attacks on Russian energy facilities.

Following the Russian attack on the South Bridge on October 1st, passengers reported that dust from the shock wave of the explosion had entered the train carriages through the ventilation system.
