China was a key tourist market for Khanh Hoa before the COVID-19 pandemic.

According to the resolution, Chinese citizens (excluding those holding passports from the Hong Kong and Macau Special Administrative Regions) traveling in groups of two or more, participating in package tours lasting no more than 30 days organized by Vietnamese international travel agencies, will be exempt from visa requirements when visiting Khanh Hoa .

Tourists must fly directly from mainland China to Cam Ranh International Airport, and enter and exit the country through the same border crossing.

The government has assigned the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism to lead the development of guidelines on the process and methods for implementing the program; this includes specifying the criteria and principles for selecting and managing participating international travel businesses.

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism is also responsible for coordinating with localities to organize and manage tourism effectively; and at the same time, coordinating with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to promote communication efforts to maximize the effectiveness of the policy.

The Ministry of Public Security is responsible for guiding entry, exit, and residence procedures for groups of visitors who are exempt from visa requirements according to the resolution.

According to the General Statistics Office, in the first nine months of this year, Vietnam welcomed 17.7 million international visitors, an increase of 14.5% compared to the same period in 2015. China continued to be the largest source market, with over 3.9 million visitors, an increase of 1.5%.

The implementation of the visa exemption policy is expected to create further impetus to attract Chinese tourists to Khanh Hoa, contributing to the recovery of this key tourist market in the coming time.

The policy is effective from October 12, 2026 to December 31, 2027.
