Miss International experiences the luxurious ambiance at InterContinental Ha Long Bay Resort.

In Van Don, Centara Hotel & Residences Van Don quickly embraced the trend of combining luxury resort experiences with island and beach destinations. Located within the upscale Ao Tien Port and Tourism urban area, with nearly 500 modern rooms, the hotel is operated by a Thai hotel group and serves as a convenient connection point for visitors to explore Quan Lan, Minh Chau, and other destinations in the region.

Mr. Maurizio Susan, General Manager of Centara Hotel & Residences Van Don, said: "Owning two cruise ships in Bai Tu Long Bay allows us to connect accommodation services with itineraries exploring local nature and culture. Guests can enjoy seafood, learn about the ancient Van Don trading port, and experience activities designed to suit their individual preferences and needs. Through this, the holiday is not just about accommodation, but is expanded into experiences connected with nature, culture, and local identity."

Tourists enjoy recreational activities and experiences at the island destinations within the Bai Tu Long Bay tour route.

Located at the northernmost point of Mong Cai, the Tra Co Long Beach Hotel and Resort opened in October 2026, adding another high-end resort product to the area. Along with accommodation, the resort offers activities such as golf, sightseeing, a "One Day as a Fisherman" experience, and handicraft workshops, thereby expanding the range of experiences for visitors.

From now until the end of the year, the unit will continue to promote tourism, aiming to tap into the MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions) market. The advantage of being close to the Mong Cai International Border Gate also opens up the possibility of attracting more Chinese tourists, contributing to diversifying the international tourist market and increasing the length of stay in the locality.

Over the years, Quang Ninh 's appeal has attracted many international hotel and resort brands such as Accor, InterContinental, Wyndham, Hyatt, Radisson, etc. As a result, the city has gradually developed a system of high-end accommodation facilities in many destinations such as Ha Long, Tuan Chau, and Yen Tu, contributing to improving service quality and expanding access to high-spending customer segments.

However, a new system of high-end accommodation is one of the conditions for enhancing the competitiveness of the destination. According to experts, to increase value and extend the length of stay, Quang Ninh needs to continue improving its service ecosystem, linking resorts with the night-time economy , performing arts, shopping, healthcare, and local cultural experiences. This is also a development direction that aligns with the requirement to shift from quantitative growth to improving the quality and added value of tourism.

In April 2025, the People's Committee of the city approved the Tourism Development Plan until 2030, with a vision to 2045, setting the goal of making Quang Ninh a tourism hub connecting the region and the world . In this plan, developing world-class resort and wellness products is identified as one of the important orientations, along with the requirement for rational tourism spatial planning, investment in synchronous and modern infrastructure, and strengthening regional, national, and international linkages.

These are important foundations for Quang Ninh to continue expanding its tourist market, improving service quality, increasing the attractiveness of the destination, and moving towards in-depth and sustainable tourism development.

The restaurant space at Tra Co Long Beach Hotel and Resort is luxurious.

According to Ms. Nguyen Thuy Yen, Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, for the luxury accommodation segment, the evaluation criteria are determined by the average length of stay, the spending level of tourists, the rate of returning visitors, and the ability to contribute value to the local economy.

To achieve this, accommodation businesses need to proactively collaborate with travel agencies, food establishments, service providers, artisans, craft villages, and local communities to create in-depth experiential chains designed to suit different customer groups. This will create competitiveness, increase the attractiveness of the destination, and promote the development of a more synchronized and professional tourism ecosystem.
