The second World Cultural Festival in Hanoi will take place from October 1 to 4, 2026, at Thang Long Imperial Citadel, with the theme "Convergence of Heritage - Shaping the Future," to commemorate the 50th anniversary of Vietnam's membership in UNESCO.
According to information from the diplomatic meeting on the second World Culture Festival in Hanoi, chaired by Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Ta Quang Dong, this year's festival brings together 50 countries, international organizations, and businesses. This is an opportunity for cultures to meet, exchange, and share unique values, while also promoting the image of Vietnam, the capital city of Hanoi, and the country's cultural values and heritage to international friends.
Compared to the first festival, this year's event is larger in scale, more diverse in content, and richer in experiential forms.
The festival features 45 cultural spaces, 35 food stalls; a film screening program with participation from 18 countries; and a fashion space with traditional costumes submitted by 19 countries. In addition, 20 international art troupes will participate, creating multicultural musical exchange spaces throughout the festival from October 1st to 4th, 2026.
Activities range from exhibitions, performances, cuisine, film, fashion to music and cultural experiences, creating a space for countries to showcase their identity, heritage and distinctive cultural values, while also opening up opportunities for cooperation in the fields of culture, arts, tourism and creative industries.
Notably, the "Spreading Creativity from Heritage - International Games Festival" area offers a new experiential space, connecting historical and cultural values with technology and creative industries.
Here, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, in collaboration with Vietnamese businesses, introduces, releases, and operates video games inspired by Vietnamese history and culture. The public has the opportunity to directly experience and explore heritage through modern interactive forms, along with cosplay performances, dance routines from the Audition game, and LED screen effects.
Through a blend of heritage and innovation, tradition and contemporaneity, Vietnam and the world, the second World Cultural Festival in Hanoi aims to create an open cultural space where cultures meet, share, and forge connections.
The festival is expected to create a cultural highlight for foreign relations in 2026, attracting the attention of the public and domestic and international media; contributing to making Hanoi - a UNESCO Creative City - a meeting point of diverse global cultures.
