Duong Kinh was once an important political and economic center of the Mac Dynasty, closely linked to the development of the coastal region. During its 65 years in Thang Long (1527-1592), the Mac Dynasty ruled over five generations of kings. The Mac Dynasty held 22 imperial examinations, producing 485 doctoral graduates, including 11 top scholars (Trang Nguyen). Many famous scholars such as Nguyen Binh Khiem, Giap Hai, Ha Nham Dai, Hoang Si Khai, etc., were educated under the Mac Dynasty.

The remnants of the Mac Dynasty are still preserved and promoted today, becoming an important resource for traditional education and the development of local culture and tourism.

Speaking at the commemoration ceremony, the leader of Kien Hung commune affirmed that this was an occasion to remember and express gratitude to the ancestors, thereby educating about traditions, fostering pride and a sense of responsibility in today's generations towards their homeland and country. Building on that traditional foundation, Kien Hung today stands before a new development space as it is located within the Southern Economic Zone of the city. Many infrastructure projects are being implemented in the commune, including the Tan Trao industrial park and cluster; the road connecting Provincial Road 354 with the coastal road is also being completed, expanding connectivity with the city's and nation's important infrastructure systems.
