From its advantageous soil and climate to its cultivation, processing, and tea-drinking expertise, Thai Nguyen tea has established its own brand, associated with the title "Thai Nguyen - The finest tea." More than just a key agricultural product, tea embodies cultural values, local knowledge, and the unique identity of the tea-producing region. Leveraging these values, coupled with technological innovation, improved product quality, market expansion, and tourism development, is opening up new avenues for the Thai Nguyen tea industry.
In 2026, to commemorate the 195th anniversary of the founding of Thai Nguyen province (November 4, 1831 - November 4, 2026), the province will organize the Thai Nguyen International Tea Festival 2026 with the theme "Thai Nguyen - The Finest Tea," taking place from October 30 to November 7, 2026. The festival aims to honor tea plants, tea producers, artisans, cooperatives, and businesses in the tea industry; promote the Thai Nguyen tea brand; and introduce the historical, cultural, economic values and tourism potential of the locality to domestic and international friends. It will also be an opportunity to promote connections and cooperation in the production, processing, and consumption of tea products, technology transfer, trade promotion, and the development of green tourism.

Speaking at the press conference, Ms. Nguyen Thi Loan, Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, and Head of the Organizing Committee of the 2026 Thai Nguyen International Tea Festival, emphasized: Thai Nguyen province hopes that the Festival will not only be a cultural event but also a bridge between heritage and development, between the locality and the international community, and between tea culture and the tea economy. Through the Festival, the province hopes to expand cooperation in the fields of tea production and processing, technology transfer, brand building, trade promotion, tourism development, and sustainable agriculture. She hoped that domestic and international news agencies and media outlets would pay attention, cooperate, and spread the image of Thai Nguyen as a province rich in tradition, dynamic in development, open to cooperation, friendly, and hospitable. Comrade Nguyen Thi Loan also respectfully invited delegates, press agencies, organizations, businesses, investors, and friends from both domestic and international backgrounds to Thai Nguyen to experience the green tea growing regions, meet tea producers, and appreciate the cultural values embodied in each cup of tea.

Speaking at the press conference, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Nguyen Minh Hang assessed the 2026 Thai Nguyen International Tea Festival as a significant activity in promoting cultural diplomacy, honoring Vietnamese cultural heritage values, and strengthening international exchange and cooperation. The Deputy Minister emphasized that tea is not only a product associated with traditional culture and local knowledge but also reflects Vietnam's orientation towards green production and sustainable development. The Festival is an opportunity for Thai Nguyen to strengthen connections with international partners, promote exports, attract investment, develop the tea industry and green tourism; thereby contributing to concretizing the policy of promoting cultural diplomacy and showcasing the image of Vietnam and its people to the world. The Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs requested that media agencies actively accompany Thai Nguyen province throughout the organization of the Festival, contributing to spreading the cultural values of tea, promoting the image of the locality, and introducing the traditional Vietnamese cultural identity to international friends.

At the press conference, leaders of Thai Nguyen Newspaper, Radio, and Television provided information about the activities within the framework of the Festival. Accordingly, the opening ceremony, themed "Thai Nguyen - The First Famous Tea," will take place on the evening of October 30, 2026, at Vo Nguyen Giap Square, Phan Dinh Phung Ward, Thai Nguyen Province. A series of activities will be held at various locations throughout the province, including famous tea-growing regions such as Tan Cuong, Dong Hy, La Bang, Vo Tranh, and Dong Phuc; the Vo Nguyen Giap Square area; the pedestrian street in Phan Dinh Phung Ward; Tan Thai Golf Course (Dai Phuc Commune); and the ESG Valley Tea Culture Center. The activities are designed to combine culture, foreign relations, trade, tourism, and hands-on experiences, creating opportunities for delegates, tourists, and international partners to explore the land, people, and tea culture of Thai Nguyen.
