The Egyptian Red Crescent announced on October 6th that it had delivered more than 2,653 tons of humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip, amid persistently critical humanitarian needs in the territory despite the ongoing ceasefire.

This is the 290th aid shipment delivered to Gaza by the Egyptian Red Crescent since launching its aid initiative for the territory in late July 2025.

According to the organization, the shipment included baskets of food, flour, relief supplies, medical equipment, and fuel necessary to keep hospitals and essential facilities running in Gaza.

The Egyptian Red Crescent Society said that since the conflict broke out in October 2023, the total amount of humanitarian aid delivered to Gaza has exceeded 1 million tons, with the participation of more than 75,000 volunteers. This latest shipment entered Gaza through the Rafah border crossing.

Egypt's continued increase in humanitarian aid deliveries to Gaza comes amidst a particularly difficult humanitarian situation. Following the ceasefire that took effect in October 2025, aid delivery to Gaza has improved somewhat, but remains below essential levels; more than 1.2 million people are facing severe food shortages.

Meanwhile, according to Gaza's health authorities, more than 1,400 Palestinians have been killed since the ceasefire came into effect, indicating that violence continues despite the ceasefire agreement. The total number of Palestinian deaths since the conflict began has exceeded 74,000, while more than 175,000 have been injured, according to figures released by Gaza.

Egypt continues to maintain logistics centers near the border with Gaza to gather and transport humanitarian aid. Ahead of winter, a new campaign has also been launched to support displaced families, prepare shelters, and provide essential supplies.
