After 10 years of implementing Directive No. 05-CT/TW dated May 15, 2016, of the Politburo , the study and emulation of Ho Chi Minh's ideology, ethics, and style have achieved many important results, contributing to building and rectifying the Party and the political system, consolidating the people's trust, creating momentum for achieving national development goals, and enhancing international standing and prestige.
However, practice also shows that in some places, learning from and following Uncle Ho's example remains superficial, lacking depth, and has not created a clear transformation from awareness to action. In the new context, learning from Uncle Ho needs to continue to innovate both in learning methods and practices, so that it truly becomes a driving force for promoting the implementation of political tasks, Party building and rectification, and the political system.
Directive No. 07 identifies the study and practice of Ho Chi Minh's ideology, ethics, methods, and style as a crucial and ongoing task for the entire political system and every cadre and Party member. Implementation must be tailored to each target group and locality, closely linked to assigned tasks, and must strengthen dialogue and address issues arising from practice; resolutely overcoming formalism, ostentation, and inaccurate reporting.
The highlight of this Directive is the requirement to shift strongly from learning to practice. Practice must be frequent, voluntary, and practical; using products, quality, work efficiency, and people's satisfaction as the measure. Integrating Ho Chi Minh's method into the content of learning and practice also means solving problems scientifically and efficiently, linking theory with practice, correctly identifying contradictions, breakthroughs, and the right people to implement them.
Ho Chi Minh City is concretizing this requirement through exemplary criteria regarding courage, public service ethics, and a spirit of serving the people, first and foremost for leaders; while continuing to promote the values of the Ho Chi Minh Cultural Space and forming behavioral standards bearing the city's distinctive mark.
The focus is on making the study and practice of President Ho Chi Minh's teachings a way of life for cadres, Party members, and the people, thereby fostering a spirit of self-reliance, self-strength, and pride in the city named after him.
Previously, Ho Chi Minh City had implemented Directive No. 05 quite extensively, in which the construction of the Ho Chi Minh Cultural Space since 2020 created another way to bring the thoughts, ethics, and style of President Ho Chi Minh closer to social life.
In this new stage of development, the effective implementation of Directive No. 07 is even more significant as the city is implementing Resolution No. 09-NQ/TW of the Politburo on building and developing Ho Chi Minh City in the new era, creating conditions to promote Ho Chi Minh City to become a symbol of dynamic development in Vietnam in the 21st century, a leading engine of growth, an important innovation and integration hub of the whole country...
Learning from Uncle Ho through concrete actions, tangible results, and the satisfaction of the people is the most vivid way to express our love, gratitude to him, and responsibility to the city named after him.
