Today's world gold price
According to the Agriculture & Environment Newspaper, on the Kitco exchange, the spot price of gold (at 9:30 AM) is holding at $4,142.7 USD/ounce. Yesterday, the price of this precious metal fell sharply to $4,139.80 USD/ounce.
Today's gold price on the world market is above $4,140 per ounce, amidst a strong US dollar.
According to Vietcombank's exchange rate (excluding taxes and fees), the world gold price is equivalent to 130.6 million VND/ounce, with a difference of approximately 12.9 million VND/ounce between domestic and world gold prices.
VOV, citing Kitco NewsWire, reported that gold prices remained stable despite high yields due to reduced expectations regarding the Federal Reserve (Fed). Market sentiment remains focused on the divergence between expectations of short-term Fed monetary easing and persistently high long-term bond yields. Initial jobless claims fell to 197,000, lower than analysts' forecasts, further reinforcing evidence of a resilient labor market ahead of Friday's September jobs report.
Over the past week, the strengthening US dollar and persistently high US Treasury yields put pressure on precious metals. This led to a weekly decline in gold prices.
According to CME's FedWatch tool, the market currently assesses the probability of the Fed raising interest rates in October at around 14%, a sharp decrease from 28% before the jobs data was released and around 70% at the beginning of the week.
Marex analyst Edward Meir believes that expectations of interest rate hikes have decreased, while the US dollar has also weakened slightly, creating conditions for a recovery in gold prices. According to him, the precious metals market was previously in an oversold state, so a rebound is likely. However, he notes that technical signals remain quite negative and gold prices could continue to face pressure if the interest rate hike cycle resumes.
