The live pig market in Northern Vietnam continued its slight downward trend on the morning of the weekend (October 3rd), recording a decrease of 1,000 VND/kg in many provinces and cities such as Cao Bang, Thai Nguyen, Quang Ninh, Bac Ninh , Lai Chau, Phu Tho, and Son La. Transactions remained stable in other localities, with no new adjustments.

Following this adjustment, the average price of live pigs across the region has fallen to around 54,000 - 56,000 VND/kg. The highest price in the North, 56,000 VND/kg, is currently maintained in Hanoi , Hai Phong, and Hung Yen. *Pork prices in the Central and Central Highlands regions:

The red color (indicating price drops) continued to spread across the live pig market in Central and Central Highlands regions this morning. A decrease of 1,000 VND/kg was recorded in Hue, Gia Lai, Dak Lak , Khanh Hoa, and Lam Dong.

Currently, live pig prices in this region range from 55,000 to 56,000 VND/kg. Lam Dong province continues to hold the highest purchase price in the region, although it has dropped to 56,000 VND/kg. All other provinces and cities remain stable at 55,000 VND/kg.

*Pork prices in the Southern region:

The live pig market in Southern Vietnam today recorded a widespread and sharp decline across most provinces and cities, with a uniform drop of 1,000 VND/kg. Ho Chi Minh City was the only locality where live pig prices remained unchanged.

Currently, live pig prices in this region are trading between 54,000 and 56,000 VND/kg. The highest price in the region is 56,000 VND/kg, recorded in Ho Chi Minh City and Dong Nai. Conversely, pig prices in Dong Thap, An Giang, and Ca Mau provinces have reached the lowest point in the region at 54,000 VND/kg.

Pork prices at supermarkets and retail chains:

On October 3rd, the price of chilled pork at Meat Deli at WinMart ranged from 110,000 to 166,000 VND/kg and included a 20% discount for members.
