According to initial information, at approximately 5:14 PM on October 2nd, L. rode a red Dream motorcycle without a license plate to the KC gold shop in Lac Nghiep village (D'Ran commune, Lam Dong province) to inquire about buying rings and necklaces.
When the shop owner handed him a gold ring weighing 2 taels (approximately 37.75 grams), the man pretended to try it on, then suddenly grabbed the ring, ran outside, and escaped in a vehicle.
Upon receiving the report, the leaders of the Lam Dong Provincial Police directed the Criminal Police Department to coordinate with other professional units and the police in the communes to urgently investigate.
At approximately 11 PM the same day, police apprehended L. while he was attempting to flee Lam Dong province, about 200km from the scene. At the scene, Lam Dong Provincial Police seized the evidence and related vehicle.
