The Marble Mountains (Ngũ Hành Sơn) have long been a symbol of Da Nang , possessing significant archaeological, cultural, religious, and geological value. The Marble Mountains were classified as a Special National Monument by the Prime Minister in 2018 and a comprehensive conservation, restoration, and rehabilitation plan was approved in 2023. Notably, 78 Han-Nom inscriptions carved on the cliffs and caves of the Marble Mountains were recognized by UNESCO as a Regional Documentary Heritage of Asia-Pacific in 2022.
