At the 20th Asian Games, the Vietnamese sports delegation won a total of 25 medals, including 3 gold medals, 3 silver medals, and 19 bronze medals.
Prior to the Games, the Vietnamese Sports Delegation set a target of winning at least 4 gold medals with 348 athletes competing in 33 sports and disciplines. Thus, in terms of the set target, the delegation did not achieve its most important goal. However, the journey at ASIAD 20 still witnessed many strenuous performances, including the mark of familiar sports and experienced athletes.

One of the most memorable moments came from the women's team kata event in Karate. Here, Sergeant Nguyen Ngoc Tram and her teammates brought home the first gold medal for the Vietnamese sports delegation at the 20th Asian Games. For the Public Security Sports team specifically, this was also a remarkable achievement, affirming the prowess of Public Security athletes in a major continental competition.
Along with Nguyen Ngoc Tram, Sergeant Trinh Thu Vinh also left a notable mark on the shooting arena. Although she couldn't reach the top of the podium, the female police shooter had impressive performances, especially in the 25m individual pistol event. Trinh Thu Vinh overcame the 2024 Olympic champion Yang Jiin ( South Korea ) in the qualifying round, thus demonstrating the competitiveness of Vietnamese shooters against top opponents.

The fact that Yang Jiin, one of the world's top shooters in the women's 25m pistol event, did not qualify for the final further highlights the fierce competition in this event at the 20th Asian Games. Previously, Trinh Thu Vinh, along with Nguyen Thuy Trang and Bui Thuy Thu Thuy, won the bronze medal in the women's 10m air pistol team event with a total score of 1,719 points, further adding to the achievements of the Public Security Sports team at the Games.
While Karate and shooting were marked by outstanding individual performances, in sepak takraw, the mark of the Public Security Sports team came from the contributions of two athletes in the Vietnamese Sepak Takraw team. Nguyen Thi Ngoc Huyen and Hoang Thi Thu Thao competed together in the women's quadrant event, as the Vietnamese Sepak Takraw team successfully defended their gold medal.
In particular, Nguyen Thi Ngoc Huyen was selected by the coaching staff to be in the starting lineup in the dramatic final match against Thailand . Along with her teammates, Ngoc Huyen played with effort and composure, contributing to the Vietnamese sepak takraw team's 2-1 victory, thus bringing home the third gold medal for the Vietnamese sports delegation at ASIAD 20.

Clearly, the athletes of the Public Security Sports Team left their own mark at ASIAD 20. Notably, Public Security athletes contributed to 2 out of 3 gold medals won by the Vietnamese Sports Delegation at the Games, thereby further affirming the capabilities and position of Public Security Sports Team in a large, highly competitive continental arena.
