Based on the reality that Ruby guava trees are grown in the sandy-gravel soil and year-round hot weather of Ea Súp, Ms. Nguyen Thi Bich researched solutions to enhance the value of agricultural products, instead of relying solely on selling fresh fruit. The solution, "Developing products from Ruby guava trees in the border region of Ea Súp," was formed by combining production, processing, and utilization of by-products.

Starting with the Ruby guava tree, she researched and perfected the process to create various products such as fresh guavas, Briêt Organic guava leaf tea, Ruby guava wine, and guava juice concentrate. Through this, the model gradually shifted from linear production to circular production, reducing material waste and limiting agricultural waste.

With the solution implemented, the product is not only consumed fresh but also processed, increasing its value from 20,000 VND/kg to 30,000 VND/kg; revenue from 2 hectares of guava trees increased from 1.6 billion VND to 2.4 billion VND per year.

Along with enhancing the value of agricultural products, Ms. Bich is gradually applying digital transformation in managing her growing areas, updating production logs and tracing origins using FaceFarm software and QR codes, aiming to build a raw material area that ensures quality and transparency of product information.

The " Scientist for Farmers" honor program is a way for the Vietnamese peasantry to express gratitude to the country's scientists, aiming to encourage and promote close and effective cooperation between scientists and farmers, thereby building a strong alliance between the working class, the peasantry, and the intellectual community.
