Colonel Nguyen Dinh Duong: Commanders of units must go directly to the grassroots level.

This was one of the points emphasized by Colonel Nguyen Dinh Duong, Director of the Hue City Police, at a meeting with police officers from 7 wards and communes in the city, which took place today (October 6).

Also attending the meeting were Colonel Duong Van Thoan, Deputy Director of Hue City Police, representatives of the command of professional units, and the police leaders of 7 wards and communes: Huong Tra, Kim Tra, Kim Long, Huong An, Duong No, Hoa Chau, and Phu Ho.

At the meeting, local police reported on the results of their work in ensuring security and order over the past period; they also highlighted the difficulties and obstacles encountered in the process of implementing tasks, gathering information, preventing and combating various types of crime at the grassroots level.

In his directive, Colonel Nguyen Dinh Duong instructed the commune-level police force to first and foremost thoroughly understand their functions, duties, powers, and working regulations as stipulated by the Ministry of Public Security ; and to handle matters within their authority, following the correct procedures and processes.

The Director of the Hue City Police Department particularly emphasized the need to innovate working methods and procedures. Accordingly, unit commanders must demonstrate a strong sense of responsibility, directly go down to the grassroots level, work alongside officers and soldiers to accumulate experience, understand the reality, and be fully accountable for the results of their work.

Regarding security at the grassroots level, the Director of Hue City Police requested that working groups strengthen information exchange, under the unified direction of the commune-level police chief, in order to proactively advise on and promptly handle any incidents that arise.

Specifically in the two key areas for national security, Kim Long ward and Huong Tra ward, Colonel Nguyen Dinh Duong directed the simultaneous implementation of solutions to prevent any complex situations from arising. The professional departments of the Hue City Police are responsible for coordinating and guiding the local authorities in protecting key targets and facilities.

Furthermore, the work of gathering information from the people must be carried out specifically and thoroughly in order to resolve internal conflicts early and at their root. Colonel Nguyen Dinh Duong emphasized, "Every incident that arises, whether large or small, must be received and handled seriously and in accordance with the law ."

Looking ahead, Colonel Nguyen Dinh Duong proposed that the entire force unify their understanding and actions, maximize the core role of commune-level police and security forces at the grassroots level, and effectively implement key tasks to maintain peace and security for the people.
