In the first nine months of 2026, Da Nang City recorded 4,251 cases of dengue fever, a 2.4-fold increase compared to the same period in 2025. Given the rising number of cases, the city's health sector is strengthening surveillance, early detection, and implementing disease prevention and control measures in the community.

According to the Da Nang City Center for Disease Control (CDC), virus isolation results showed that 39 out of 56 tested samples were positive, with nearly 70% belonging to type D2. The health sector continues to monitor the circulation of virus types and the disease progression in the area.

The current weather conditions are favorable for disease-carrying mosquitoes to breed and develop, therefore the risk of further increases in the number of cases is high if preventive measures are not maintained regularly.

The Da Nang CDC is coordinating with local authorities and relevant departments to strengthen surveillance of cases and outbreaks, and conduct inspections in areas with increasing numbers of cases. At high-risk locations, health workers are monitoring mosquitoes, larvae, and pupae and implementing appropriate control measures.

Environmental sanitation campaigns, mosquito larva eradication, and chemical spraying to kill mosquitoes in outbreak areas are carried out according to the actual situation. The health sector also strengthens communication, trains grassroots health workers, reinforces rapid response teams, and prepares supplies and chemicals for disease prevention and control.

People need to take the time to inspect their homes and workplaces, remove items that could collect water; turn over unused bottles, jars, buckets, and basins, and tightly cover water containers. At the same time, they need to cooperate with the government and the health sector when implementing dengue fever prevention and control activities.

People aged 4 and above can go to vaccination centers for advice on dengue fever vaccination. If you experience a sudden high fever or suspect you have the disease, you should go to a medical facility for examination and treatment guidance; do not attempt self-treatment at home.
