Marina Bay Sands: From a risky investment to a global icon of profitability.
From the moment of its announcement to over 15 years of operation, Marina Bay Sands (MBS) has always been associated with dramatic descriptions: the most expensive construction, the most risky investment, and the highest return on investment in the world ...
In 2006, Las Vegas Sands Corporation began construction of MBS amidst a downturn in Singapore's tourism industry. The rest is history, both for this project and for the island nation's tourism sector.
The MBS entertainment complex, which opened in 2010 on an area of 15.5 hectares, has a total investment of approximately US$7 billion. It boasts a collection of high-end architecture: three 55-story towers; a 340-meter-long infinity pool shaped like a boat perched 200 meters above the water; a lotus-shaped museum; a modern casino with 500 gaming tables and 1,600 slot machines; an international-standard theater; and a convention, exhibition, and shopping center featuring renowned brands...

MBS has defined the concept of a "city that never sleeps," welcoming an average of nearly 38 million visitors per year by 2025, generating estimated pre-tax profits of US$2 billion annually, and creating nearly 12,000 direct jobs. MBS has also become a recognizable image of Singapore on the world map, becoming a model destination.
Da Nang Downtown and MBS: A Harmony in Location and Development Orientation
Da Nang Downtown is being developed by Sun Group with the vision of becoming the second Marina Bay Sands, as the project possesses similar advantages to the iconic landmark of the Lion City.
While MBS is located right in the heart of Marina Bay, surrounded by Singapore's financial, commercial, and iconic landmarks, Da Nang Downtown is situated in the "heart" of the Han River – a hub of iconic buildings, cultural and tourist destinations, and international-level events.
Alongside its advantageous location, MBS's success also stems from its skillful use of the Marina Bay area to shape the island nation's skyline. Similarly, Da Nang Downtown fully utilizes the picturesque stretch of the Han River between the Tran Thi Ly Bridge and the Tien Son Bridge, planning it into a series of commercial streets and vibrant experiential spaces to transform the river into the soul of the tourist journey.

International standard multi-experience community model
Inspired by MBS's integrated model of accommodation, entertainment, shopping, and conference facilities, Da Nang Downtown is envisioned as a modern, multi-functional complex. The project seamlessly integrates a shopping mall, a 4,000-seat opera house, a 24/7 pedestrian street, and serves as the venue for the Da Nang International Fireworks Festival (DIFF).
Da Nang Downtown also boasts the 69-story Landmark Tower – reaching 408 meters, the tallest building in Central Vietnam – inspired by the stylized Vietnamese ao dai dress, promising to become a new landmark along the Han River.
To guarantee its global stature, Da Nang Downtown collaborates with three leading international names: Kohn Pedersen Fox (KPF, USA) for master planning consultancy; EDSA (USA) for landscape design; and ECA2 (France) for creating water, fire, and light art shows.

In its development strategy for the period 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050, Da Nang city clearly identifies the urgent need to develop entertainment complexes and night-time economic zones . Within Da Nang's development landscape, Da Nang Downtown is expected to be a highlight, becoming a destination attracting tourists and providing accommodation for both the Hoa Cuong area and the city center.
