At the commendation ceremony, representatives from the Drug Crime Investigation Police Department presented a summary of Case 0926V. Accordingly, the department focused on transforming and establishing drug-free zones, and implementing a high-intensity plan to combat drug-related crimes in key areas and locations with complex drug problems. From the end of July 2026, through intelligence gathering on drug-related crimes in local areas, the Drug Crime Investigation Police Department discovered a group of individuals suspected of organizing a large-scale illegal drug trafficking ring into Lai Chau province and attempting to distribute it. The Drug Crime Investigation Police Department reported this to the Director of the Provincial Police, the Deputy Director, and the Head of the Provincial Police Investigation Agency for guidance and established Case 0926V to combat and dismantle the ring.
With a determined spirit to fight crime to the end and strive to build a drug-free Lai Chau province, at 2:30 PM on September 13, 2026, on a patrol road (approximately 600m from border marker 61 towards marker 60) in Po To village, Phong Tho commune, Lai Chau province, the Special Task Force, led by the Drug Crime Investigation Department of the Provincial Police, in coordination with the professional departments of the Drug Crime Investigation Bureau, the Provincial Police's professional departments, Huoi Luong Border Guard Post, the Professional Department of the Lai Chau Provincial Border Guard Command, Phong Tho Commune Police, and Pa Tan Commune Police, successfully dismantled Special Case 0926V, apprehending Giang A Va, born in 1982, and Giang A Chia, born in 1985, both residing in Pho village, Pa Tan commune, for the illegal trafficking of narcotics, seizing 20 blocks of narcotics. The seized items included heroin (total weight 7,012 grams), two motorcycles, and three mobile phones. Currently, the Drug Crime Investigation Department of the Provincial Police is coordinating with other functional forces to continue investigating and expanding the case.
At the commendation ceremony, Major General Bui Quyet Toan - Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, Director of the Provincial Police - presented awards to 9 collectives from professional units of the Lai Chau Provincial Police and professional units of the Provincial Border Guard Command for their outstanding achievements in combating Case 0926V.
