According to SGGP sources, Farhan Halim has reached an agreement to play for the Ho Chi Minh City Police men's team. The contract value has not been disclosed.
Farhan Halim is the leading hitter of the Indonesian men's national volleyball team. Standing at 1.93 meters tall, he boasts an impressive jump of 3.55 meters. He is known for his aggressive and effective attacking style, particularly in scoring points with powerful spikes.
This year, Farhan Halim and the Indonesian men's volleyball team have faced Vietnam three times. Most recently, at the 20th Asian Games, Vietnam defeated Indonesia 3-1.
The Ho Chi Minh City Police team will host the second round of the men's competition, held from October 28th to November 8th. In the first round, the team coached by Nguyen Van Hanh strengthened their squad with two high-level foreign players: Martin Licek (Czech Republic) and Ali Haghparast ( Iran ). However, they will not be able to return to Vietnam in time for the second round.
Therefore, the coaching staff is looking for another foreign player to suit the squad in preparation for the competition. The regulations of the 2026 National Club Championship allow each team to register a maximum of two foreign players. Therefore, it cannot be ruled out that the Ho Chi Minh City Police men's team will add another foreign player.
The team currently has national team players in its squad including Pham Quoc Du, Tran Hoai Phuong, Tran Thanh Nhan, Bui Xuan Tien, and Duong Van Tien.
In addition, the Ho Chi Minh City Police team also has many other members who have received national training, such as Giang Van Duc, Huynh Trung Truc, Nguyen Thanh Hai, Quan Trong Nghia, and Nguyen Van Quoc Duy.
In the first round, the Ho Chi Minh City Police team won 5 matches and lost 2, temporarily placing them second in the standings.
After the first round, the Ho Chi Minh City Police team participated in two international tournaments recently and both achieved runner-up positions: the 2026 ASEAN Military Volleyball Tournament and the 2026 Dong Nai City International Volleyball Tournament.
The team's goal in the second round is to advance from the group stage and secure a place in the final to compete for the championship.
