Customers are looking to buy decorative tiles at the store of Nha Dep Building Materials and Interior Decoration Co., Ltd., on Nguyen Van Cu Street.
To meet the demand for decorating and beautifying buildings and homes during the year-end period, building material dealers and stores in Can Tho City are preparing a plentiful and diverse supply of goods. Currently, decorative tiles and wall tiles are available in a wide variety of designs, patterns, and sizes. Tiles in sizes such as 30x30cm, 40x80cm, 30x60cm, and 60x60cm are priced at around 250,000 VND/m2 depending on brand and material, suitable for use in homes, businesses, restaurants, cafes, and other commercial spaces.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Dua, Sales Manager of Nha Dep Construction Materials and Interior Decoration Co., Ltd., located on Nguyen Van Cu Street, An Binh Ward, said: "Currently, the demand for decorative tiles and paint has increased by more than 20% compared to previous months. Although we are entering the peak business season, the price of decorative tiles has only increased slightly by about 10,000 VND/m2 compared to the same period last year, with no price surges or shortages whatsoever." According to Ms. Dua, this year's tile selection trends are clearly differentiated according to living spaces. For facades, instead of using 60cm wide tiles as before, consumers are now favoring smaller-sized tiles such as Viet Nhat and Inax tiles, priced at around 900,000 VND/m2. Despite the relatively high price, these product lines are still preferred by many customers due to their luxurious appearance and ease of installation.
For villas or hotels, customers often choose large-format tiles such as 60x120cm or 160x240cm, priced at around 1 million VND/m2. The highlight of this high-end tile line is its natural stone pattern design, meeting the criteria of luxury, heat resistance, and good waterproofing. Meanwhile, the mini-apartment and homestay segment prefers 30x60cm tiles or glazed tiles with wood-like patterns, in shades of gray or off-white, catering to modern decorating trends, priced at around 350,000 VND/m2. Furthermore, this year's market also offers new decorative tile designs following the trend of high-end, multi-purpose stone, suitable for both wall cladding and flooring.
Along with tiles, paint is a popular item during the Tet holiday renovation season. This year, consumers are particularly focused on paints with good waterproofing capabilities to address leaks and seepage. In the affordable segment, Expo and BHB paints are highly regarded for their economy , durability, and convenience, as they allow for direct color mixing into the waterproofing layer. In the premium segment, reputable brands such as Nippon, Jotun, and Dulux are widely available at around 850,000 VND per 5-liter container. Most of these products utilize modern technology, creating a super-glossy, heat-resistant, dust-repellent, and mildew-resistant paint film. A highlight of the paint market is the on-site computerized color mixing service. Thanks to this, instead of using the basic colors in the original color palettes, customers who own cafes, spas, or nail salons can flexibly combine pastel shades like blue, pink, etc., to create accents and express their own aesthetic taste for each space.
According to Ms. Dua, to choose building materials that are both affordable and durable, consumers should prioritize quality, favoring materials with good heat resistance and waterproofing capabilities to help the building maintain its beautiful appearance over time. For older buildings and houses that frequently experience peeling paint and leaks during the rainy season, homeowners need specialized solutions such as choosing specialized waterproof paint or using tiles with low water absorption rates for the base and facade. To ensure the purchase of genuine products and avoid counterfeit goods, consumers should seek out reputable building material dealers; and be sure to check prices on the official websites of reputable building material brands to ensure optimal use for their homes.
