To date, Can Tho has planted rice on a total area of 708,310 hectares, exceeding the plan by 0.22%, with a harvested yield of over 4.1 million tons, an increase of 1.32% compared to the same period last year, reaching 88.24% of the annual plan. Fruit harvest yielded over 1.15 million tons, an increase of 6.92% compared to the same period last year, reaching 81.92% of the plan. The total livestock and poultry population exceeded 17.7 million head, an increase of 9.6% compared to the same period in 2025, reaching 99.38% of the plan. Meat production reached 136,168 tons, an increase of 10.46% compared to the same period last year, reaching 74.67% of the plan. Total aquaculture and fisheries production reached 564,144 tons, an increase of 9.59% compared to the same period last year.
The authorities in Can Tho City are continuing to implement relevant plans and policies to effectively carry out the strategy of restructuring the agricultural sector towards improving quality, added value, and sustainable development. This includes promoting the development of value chains for each commodity sector, linked to the development of agricultural tourism and OCOP products.
