Throughout the history of Vietnam's coal and mineral industry, generations of workers at Cua Ong Coal Sorting Plant have contributed to writing a proud tradition. On November 7, 1929, young communist party member Ngo Huy Tang planted the red flag with the hammer and sickle on Pooc Tich No. 1 bridge at Cua Ong port, ushering in a new era: Cua Ong workers under the leadership of the Party.

On November 12, 1936, the workers of Cua Ong Wharf, along with more than 30,000 miners, achieved victory in the historic General Strike. During the August Revolution of 1945 and the years of resistance against the French, the workers of Cua Ong Wharf, together with the people of the whole country, fought for national independence and successfully resisted the French.

On April 25, 1955, the mining region was liberated, but the Cua Ong screening plant and port had been destroyed and paralyzed by the French colonialists. With his intelligence and creativity, electrician Le Van Hien – the first Labor Hero of the mining region – in a short time, together with the workers of Cua Ong, restored the screening plant and port to production in less than a month. Under the leadership of the Party, from a workshop of the Cam Pha mine, the Cua Ong Port Enterprise was established on August 20, 1960, with 1,629 employees. The enterprise consistently excelled in fulfilling its assigned plans; it received a letter of commendation from President Ho Chi Minh and its name was inscribed on the President's rotating award flag.

Following Uncle Ho's teachings, the workers and employees of the Enterprise competed to "produce as much coal as possible for the Fatherland"; they bravely produced and fought. In 1966, the Women's Self-Defense Company of the Cua Ong Coal Screening Plant was awarded the title of "Heroic Unit of the People's Armed Forces" - the first Heroic Unit of the mining region. The Enterprise received many letters of commendation from President Ho Chi Minh.

On November 15, 1968, worker Tran Thi Cay of the mine had the honor of joining a delegation of mine workers to meet President Ho Chi Minh at the Presidential Palace.

On August 12, 1974, Cua Ong Wharf Enterprise was renamed Cua Ong Coal Sorting Enterprise.

With the spirit of "cutting through the Truong Son Mountains to save the country," the employees of the enterprise enthusiastically joined the Coal Army, contributing to the Great Victory of Spring 1975.
