This appearance by Hoang Ngoc Nhu seems very special…
Yes, that's true. For a long time after winning the Miss Student Vietnam 2025 title, I haven't regularly attended events. However, what makes this appearance even more special is that Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry is the school where I spent my entire student life. I was once a student standing on that stage, so returning today as a judge brings very special emotions. Watching the students appear on stage reminds me of myself in the past, as well as the students today – wanting to challenge themselves, seeking opportunities, and gradually discovering their own potential.

Having transitioned from contestant to judge, what qualities does Hoang Ngoc Nhu value most in the contestants?
First of all, I must say I was quite surprised by the quality of this year's contestants. They not only have good looks, but also demonstrate confidence, personality, and clear thinking. What I appreciate most is that each of them has their own unique story and personality.
From my perspective as a beauty pageant contestant now sitting on the judging panel, I believe that while a contestant's appearance may be important, it's not the deciding factor. Looks can be an initial advantage, but what makes a girl memorable is her way of thinking and behaving. The same applies to beauty pageant contestants; I look for sincerity first. Appearance might make an impression in the first few seconds, but a girl's character, mindset, and how she behaves are what truly leave a lasting impression.

So, it seems a process is needed to find the deserving winner of a beauty contest, even at the school level?
That's right, I'm not looking for a contestant who's already perfect from the first round, but rather I'm more interested in each person's potential and ability to change throughout the competition, and to develop and shine throughout their journey.

According to Hoang Ngoc Nhu, what qualities does a young person in general, and a beauty queen in particular, need to possess to truly shine?
Besides sincerity and thoughtfulness, I believe a young person needs the ability to recognize their own value. I want to see proactiveness, a progressive spirit, and a unique personality in young people, because I believe that a truly valuable person is someone who knows who they are and who they want to become.
A beauty pageant for students is therefore more than just a place to select outstanding individuals. Participation is also an opportunity for contestants to better understand their strengths, weaknesses, and the path they wish to pursue. From another perspective, it's also the journey I'm currently experiencing after winning the title.
Could that be the reason for her infrequent appearances after winning the crown?
After winning the crown, I chose to dedicate my time to focusing on what I truly wanted to build, rather than appearing just to maintain my presence. I think sometimes 'appearing less' doesn't mean 'doing nothing'.
Thank you for sharing, Hoang Ngoc Nhu!
