The qualifying squad includes 3 goalkeepers and 20 players for other positions. These are the players selected by the coaching staff after a period of observation and evaluation through training sessions and friendly matches during the preparation period.
One of the crucial stages for the Vietnam U17 women's team was their training camp in Japan from September 10-20. During this time, the players had the opportunity to train and compete against high-quality opponents, thereby gaining more international competition experience.
The friendly matches in Japan also helped coach Masahiko Okiyama and his colleagues to further assess each position, review the squad, and adjust technical issues before finalizing the list for the qualifiers.
After concluding their training camp and returning to Vietnam, the entire team continued their training. On September 28th, the Vietnam U17 women's team traveled to Ho Chi Minh City to begin their final preparation phase.
Arriving early helps the players adapt to the weather and living conditions, as well as familiarize themselves with the match venue at Ba Ria Stadium.
In the 2027 AFC U17 Women's Championship qualifiers, the Vietnam U17 women's team is in Group D along with the Kyrgyz Republic , the Northern Mariana Islands, and Palestine. The group stage matches will take place from October 5-11.
After preparing domestically and training in Japan, coach Masahiko Okiyama and his team are focusing on finalizing the last details, aiming for the qualifying rounds with the goal of showcasing their best abilities and competing for a spot in the next round.
