Artists from the Vietnam National Traditional Theatre perform on the circular stage within the Thang Long Imperial Citadel grounds.
At the circular stage within the Thang Long Imperial Citadel grounds, a series of vibrant artistic performances took place, attracting a large number of locals and domestic and international tourists.
As one of the participating art units, the Vietnam National Traditional Theatre presented typical performances and excerpts of Tuong, Cheo, and Cai Luong, traditional art forms rich in national theatrical identity, to the public within the setting of an international-scale cultural festival.
Within the ancient setting of the Imperial Citadel, the sounds of drums, rhythmic clappers, songs, and the distinctive physical movements of traditional theater create a unique highlight for the program.
The artists performed in a highly stylized manner, combining music , dance, and acting, allowing the audience to experience the characteristics of each art form right on stage.

Notably, the program attracts even audiences who have not had many opportunities to experience traditional Vietnamese opera (tuong, cheo, cai luong).
For international tourists, live performances become a vibrant way to experience Vietnamese culture, from the sounds and costumes to the body language of the artists.
Meanwhile, the presence of a large young audience also opens up opportunities for traditional art to reach a new group of the public.
The inclusion of traditional Vietnamese opera (tuồng, chèo, cải lương) in the cultural exchange space of the second World Cultural Festival in Hanoi not only provides more entertainment options for the public but also places Vietnamese traditional art in contact with many other cultures.
From the stage of the Imperial Citadel, cultural values nurtured over generations continue to be introduced, connected, and find new ways to reach today's audience.

According to People's Artist Le Tuan Cuong, Deputy Director of the Vietnam National Traditional Theatre, participating in the second World Cultural Festival in Hanoi is an opportunity for Vietnamese art to contribute its voice to an international cultural exchange space, where artists and art forms from many countries converge.
This is also an opportunity for the theater to introduce the unique values of traditional Vietnamese opera (tuong, cheo, cai luong) to a wide audience, including many international tourists.
Familiar and representative excerpts from traditional theater such as " The Old Man Carrying His Wife to the Festival ," "The Village Headman and Mother Dop ," along with folk songs and regional performances of Cai Luong (Vietnamese traditional opera) art, were selected by the theater to introduce to the public at the festival.
These are all excerpts with distinctive performance styles, which help the audience better appreciate the unique colors and beauty of Vietnamese theater.

According to People's Artist Le Tuan Cuong, in order to bring traditional art closer to international audiences, the program includes bilingual hosting.
In addition, the theater employs staff fluent in English to assist with translation, helping foreign visitors better understand the content, characters, and characteristics of each performance during the show. This approach creates an additional "bridge" between traditional theatrical languages and audiences from many countries.
People's Artist Le Tuan Cuong said that despite the hot weather in Hanoi, the artists maintained a serious, focused, and passionate attitude in each performance.
For them, standing on stage amidst the Thang Long Imperial Citadel, before domestic and international audiences, is also an opportunity for each artist to demonstrate their responsibility in preserving and spreading the values of traditional Vietnamese art.
