The 2nd World Cultural Festival in Hanoi holds special significance, coinciding with the 50th anniversary of Vietnam's membership in UNESCO, affirming the role of the thousand-year-old capital in bridging culture and its aspiration for peace.

This year's festival brings together participants from 50 countries and international organizations, creating a vibrant and multifaceted space for cultural dialogue.

The event offers a rich array of activities including 45 cultural spaces, 35 food stalls, film screenings featuring 18 countries, traditional fashion shows from 15 countries, and top-notch artistic performances from 20 international art troupes.

At the opening ceremony, Deputy Prime Minister Pham Thi Thanh Tra expressed her confidence that, with the participation of countries, international organizations, artists, artisans, researchers, and the community, the Festival will leave a profound mark and memorable experiences; spread the values, vitality, and strength of Vietnamese culture; and bring Vietnamese culture closer to the world and the world closer to Vietnam.

Lazare Eloundou Assomo, Director of the World Heritage Centre, expressed that a festival like this offers something that purely policy dialogues cannot: the opportunity to experience another culture firsthand – through music , stories, crafts, and how that culture is present in daily life.

Immediately following the ribbon-cutting ceremony, a special artistic program themed "Convergence of Heritage - Shaping the Future" led the audience on a journey of heightened emotions.

The opening stage was a magical blend of profound roots and contemporary language.

The program opened with the painting "Vietnam in Diverse Colors," fully recreating the cultural identity through performances of Hue royal court music, folk songs from the three regions of Vietnam, the Quan Ho folk music of Bac Ninh , and the heroic melodies of the South.

Following that theme is the "Convergence of Five Continents" segment, where art troupes from China, Russia, South Korea , Laos, and many other countries come together to express their shared spirit of friendship and respect for cultural diversity.

The opening night concluded with an explosive atmosphere of youth with the program "Development & Brilliant Future," where traditional and modern artistic elements blended creatively.

Traditional musical elements blend with Rap, Hip-hop, and EDM through performances by beloved singers such as Meritorious Artist Xuan Hinh, Hoa Minzy, Duc Phuc, Truc Nhan, Hoang Bach, and Ha Myo.

The diverse array of art forms and heritage from Vietnam and around the world showcased on the opening ceremony stage made the "artistic feast" even more vibrant and colorful.

Vietnamese art troupes such as: Hue Royal Traditional Arts Theatre, Central Highlands Gong Ensemble, Thanh Am Xanh Group, GomShow…

International performing arts troupes bring vibrant colors from all five continents to the stage in the capital city.

The second World Culture Festival in Hanoi will run until October 4th, 2026, promising to continue being an attractive cultural destination, drawing large numbers of Hanoi residents and international tourists to visit and experience.

This is also an opportunity for the public and international friends to fully experience the fusion of global cultural excellence right in the heart of Hanoi.
