According to the decision, Mr. Nguyen Tien Thanh will relinquish the above positions effective October 5, 2026, at his own request. After leaving the Vietnam Education Publishing House, he will be transferred to the Literature and Arts Newspaper - an agency under the Vietnam Writers Association.
The decision states that Mr. Nguyen Tien Thanh is responsible for handing over all files, documents, ongoing work, finances, assets, as well as related rights and obligations to the Vietnam Education Publishing House in accordance with the law and internal regulations.
Mr. Thanh's salary, allowances, and other benefits will continue to be implemented in accordance with current state regulations.
On the same day, Minister of Education and Training Hoang Minh Son also signed a decision appointing Mr. Nguyen Chi Binh, Deputy General Director of Vietnam Education Publishing House, as Acting General Director of Vietnam Education Publishing House from October 5th until a decision is made by the competent authority regarding the appointment of the General Director of Vietnam Education Publishing House, but not exceeding 12 months from the date this decision takes effect.
Previously, in May 2024, Minister of Education and Training Nguyen Kim Son signed Decision No. 1279/QD-BGDĐT to transfer Mr. Nguyen Tien Thanh - Editor-in-Chief of the Life and Law Magazine ( thuộc Vietnam Lawyers Association) to work at Vietnam Education Publishing House, to be appointed as Chairman of the Board of Directors and concurrently General Director of this Publishing House.
According to the decision, Mr. Nguyen Tien Thanh's term of office is 5 years, starting from May 15, 2024. Thus, after more than two years working at the Vietnam Education Publishing House, Mr. Nguyen Tien Thanh returns to journalism at his own request.
