The second World Culture Festival in Hanoi in 2026, jointly organized by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs , and the Hanoi People's Committee, will take place to commemorate the 50th anniversary of Vietnam's accession to the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO).

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Comrade Pham Thi Thanh Tra emphasized: “I hope that the festival will not only leave beautiful impressions, but more importantly, spread sustainable values and convey three messages. Firstly, to come together to understand each other, to connect to develop together. Secondly, to cherish and preserve heritage for transmission; to create to enrich the value of heritage in each nation and globally. Thirdly, from the festival, to create an international cultural space – where the world comes to Vietnam and Vietnam gets closer to the world; to connect cultures, understand each other better, and above all, to build a peaceful, humane, prosperous, and sustainably developed world together.”

The opening ceremony, themed “Convergence of Heritage - Shaping the Future,” launched an artistic journey celebrating Vietnam, from the depth of its heritage to a global exchange space. The artistic program consisted of three parts: “Vietnam in Diverse Colors,” “Convergence of Five Continents,” and “Development and a Brilliant Future,” with the participation of Vietnamese and international art troupes and artists.
Taking place from October 1st to 4th at Thang Long Imperial Citadel, the second World Culture Festival in Hanoi in 2026 will bring together participants from 50 countries and international organizations.
The public can explore 45 cultural spaces, 35 food stalls, film screenings featuring 18 participating countries, a fashion space with traditional costumes submitted by 15 countries, and performances by 19 international art troupes…

Some of the festival's highlights include: Visiting and experiencing the Vietnam Ethnic Culture and Tourism Village, the "Colors of Five Continents" street parade, the "Concert of Five Continents" music festival, and the closing ceremony scheduled for the evening of October 4th… Along with these are exhibitions, performances, and experiences related to cuisine, film, fashion, and music.
The festival is an opportunity for different cultures to meet, interact, and share their unique values. At the same time, it promotes the image of Vietnam, the capital city of Hanoi, and the country's cultural values and heritage to international friends.
