The second World Culture Festival in Hanoi in 2026, jointly organized by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the Hanoi People's Committee, will take place from October 1-4 at the Thang Long Imperial Citadel National Special Historical Site.
With the theme "Convergence of Heritage - Shaping the Future," the festival brings together the participation of 50 countries and international organizations, with 45 cultural spaces, 35 food stalls, film screenings from 18 countries, a fashion space showcasing traditional costumes from 15 countries, and 20 international art troupes.

Beginning with a journey from heritage to modernity
The opening night took place at 8 PM on October 1st with the theme "Convergence of Heritage - Shaping the Future," under the artistic direction and overall direction of Associate Professor Dr. Ta Quang Dong, Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism.
The program is designed with a combination of traditional Vietnamese cultural values and contemporary artistic language.
The "Vietnam in Diverse Colors" section showcases the cultural identity of 54 ethnic groups through the performance of "Mother's Lullaby," a medley of folk songs from the three regions, Hue Royal Court Music, the song "Southern Land," and the melodies of Quan Ho folk songs from Bac Ninh .
The art space continues to expand with the "Five Continents Converge" section, featuring international art troupes from China, Russia, Peru, Bangladesh, Indonesia , Pakistan, Israel, Azerbaijan, Laos, Ukraine, South Korea, and more. Performances showcasing the unique characteristics of each country contribute to a diverse tapestry of world culture.
In the "Development & Bright Future" section, folk elements are combined with Rap, Hip-hop, and EDM, featuring performances by singers Hoa Minzy, Duc Phuc, Truc Nhan, Ha Myo, and Hoang Bach.
Along with the artists, the program features a cast of professional and amateur performers including 60 members of a dance troupe, 30 dancers, 20 members of a bronze drum group, 50 children from the "Star of Childhood" program, 30 members of the Olympia International Choir, 14 members of a lion dance team, 20 circus performers, and approximately 100 extras.
Bringing international delegates to experience Vietnamese culture.
On the morning of October 2nd, international delegates participated in a tour and experiential program at the Vietnam Ethnic Culture and Tourism Village.
Here, delegates have the opportunity to learn about the distinctive cultural spaces of Vietnam's ethnic communities, explore customs, traditions, and traditional crafts, interact with people of different ethnic groups, enjoy folk art performances, and experience traditional cuisine.
Through tours, presentations, exchanges, and experiences, the program introduces the richness and diversity of Vietnamese ethnic cultures, while also creating opportunities for international delegates to learn about and connect with Vietnamese cultural values.
"Colors from five continents" in the pedestrian street space.
One of the highlights of the festival is the "Colors of Five Continents" street parade, which will take place at 4 PM on October 3rd.
The program features 15 international art troupes from Europe, Africa, Asia, and South America. Along with international artists, Vietnamese artisans and artists will showcase the ao dai and traditional costumes in a space combining a stage and a pedestrian street.
The performances were designed to increase interaction, bringing art out of the stage and closer to the public. Through this, the beauty, identity, and distinctive cultural values of the participating countries were showcased in an open and engaging space.
"Concert of Five Continents" connects artists and the public.
On October 2nd and 3rd, the circular stage at Thang Long Imperial Citadel will host a series of programs called "Concert of Five Continents".
This is a space where performing arts groups from many continents can perform together, showcasing different forms of music, musical instruments, and unique aspects of the cultural life of each country.
The program aims to create direct interaction between artists and the public, thereby showcasing the diversity of world music and art.
Besides traditional performances, the "Concert of Five Continents" also features activities that combine traditional culture with modern presentation methods and technology. Cultural Cosplay - A Crossover of Vietnamese Colors and Audition - Developing with Vietnamese Culture , produced by VTC, are activities aimed at bringing heritage materials closer to young audiences.

Concluding with a message of connection.
The closing ceremony took place at 8 PM on October 4th with the theme "Colors Converge - Hand in Hand Towards the Future," bringing to a close four days of activities for the festival.
The program includes many performances that draw on traditional musical elements such as the mashup of Phong Nu - Co Doi Thuong Ngan, the medley of Hue folk songs - Ly Muoi Thuong - Ly Ngua O, Da Co Hoai Lang ...
Through its performances, the program continues to showcase the values of traditional Vietnamese music in an artistic space featuring both domestic and international artists.
The closing night concluded with the song "Hand in Hand," featuring performances by all Vietnamese and international artists. This performance was chosen to wrap up the four-day festival, emphasizing the message of connection, exchange, and cooperation between cultures.
Taking place to mark the 50th anniversary of Vietnam's membership in UNESCO, the second World Cultural Festival in Hanoi expanded its activities to include performing arts, exhibitions, cuisine, film, fashion, and cultural experiences.
The series of programs, held at Thang Long Imperial Citadel and related cultural spaces, provides an opportunity for the domestic public to access diverse international cultures, while also bringing Vietnamese cultural values closer to international friends.
