Nguyen Thi Oanh competed in the Techcombank Hanoi International Marathon 2026, which took place on the morning of October 4th in Hanoi .

The Vietnamese female athlete finished first in the women's 21km half-marathon with a time of 1 hour 21 minutes and 44 seconds. Second place went to athlete Bui Thi Thu Ha (1 hour 24 minutes and 53 seconds).

Recently, Nguyen Thi Oanh participated in the 20th Asian Games but only focused on competing in the women's 10,000m race, not her strongest event, the 3,000m steeplechase. She finished in 6th place (33'44"92).

However, upon returning to the marathon course in Hanoi, Nguyen Thi Oanh still maintained her victory in the 21km race.

Meanwhile, in the men's 21km half-marathon event, athlete Nguyen Trung Cuong finished second with a time of 1 hour 14 minutes and 40 seconds.

Nguyen Trung Cuong is also a member of the Vietnamese National Athletics Team who recently participated in the 20th Asian Games. In Aichi-Nagoya ( Japan ), Nguyen Trung Cuong finished 6th in the men's 3,000m steeplechase (8'57”71).

The winner of the men's 21km half-marathon at the Techcombank Hanoi International Marathon 2026 was Japanese athlete Saeki Makino (1 hour 12 minutes 54 seconds).

Meanwhile, in the marathon (42km), athlete Huynh Anh Khoi finished first in the men's category with a time of 2 hours 29 minutes and 59 seconds, while former national team member Pham Thi Hong Le won first in the women's category (2 hours 50 minutes and 41 seconds).

In March, Hong Le won the gold medal in the women's marathon at the 10th National Sports Games in athletics in 2026.
