In recent days, the leaders of the People's Committee of Nam Tra My commune, along with specialized agencies, have intensified on-site inspections of public investment projects in the area. The focus is on projects with large total investment amounts, allocated capital in 2026, but whose construction progress, completed volume, and disbursement are currently lower than required.

Notably, the embankment project to prevent landslides in the critical area of the administrative center is one of the projects that the local authorities are focusing on accelerating. The project has a total investment of over 74.3 billion VND, of which the planned capital for 2026 is over 21 billion VND. To date, the project has only completed over 32% of the work, lagging behind the planned schedule.

Upon on-site inspection, the main reason affecting the construction progress is primarily due to obstacles in land clearance. In addition, unfavorable weather conditions in the mountainous region have also hampered the mobilization of manpower and machinery, as well as the organization of construction work on the site.

Mr. Nguyen Hong Nhan, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Nam Tra My commune, said: "For this project, we require the construction unit to increase manpower, machinery, and equipment, focus on completing the remaining items, and take advantage of favorable weather to accelerate progress. At the same time, the local authorities will regularly inspect and resolve any arising difficulties, determined to ensure the volume of work completed and the disbursement schedule according to the 2026 capital plan."

In 2026, the total public investment capital allocated to Nam Tra My commune was over 142 billion VND. To date, the locality has disbursed over 78.5 billion VND, reaching over 55.2% of the plan.

Although disbursement results have improved, implementation progress remains slow compared to the city's requirements and disbursement plan. In the final months of the year, the pressure to disburse the remaining funds is immense, while many projects still face difficulties regarding land acquisition, weather, manpower, and construction organization.

“For other projects, the commune has issued detailed disbursement plans for each project. Currently, we have divided into three working groups that go directly to the site to direct the investors and supervisory units to closely monitor the progress and regularly urge the contractors to ensure the completed work is completed and the funds are disbursed according to the plan,” Mr. Nhan said.

In mountainous areas like Nam Tra My, in addition to accelerating capital disbursement, public investment projects also serve to prevent and control landslides, protecting the safety of residential areas, schools, offices, and essential infrastructure serving the lives and production of people during the rainy and stormy season.
