OPENING CEREMONY OF HANOI WORLD CULTURE FESTIVAL 2025: JOURNEY OF CULTURAL DISCOVERY

With the theme “Culture is the foundation - Art is the means”, the first World Cultural Festival in Hanoi is not only a large-scale cultural event, but also a typical cultural foreign activity of Vietnam in 2025, aiming to become an annual event of international stature. The festival is positioned as a “colorful festival” - where culture becomes a common language connecting humanity.

Here, melodies, colors, flavors and emotions harmonize in the open space of Thang Long Imperial Citadel - the thousand-year-old symbol of the Capital's civilization, a World Cultural Heritage honored by UNESCO.

The opening ceremony took place at the central stage, combining cross-cultural performances and eye-catching 3D Mapping projections. In particular, the highlight of the event was the special ritual - the Prime Minister and other leaders painted a five-color ceramic painting, symbolizing the cultural harmony between ethnic groups.

During the Opening Ceremony, the audience enjoyed many unique art performances from Vietnam and other countries around the world. From Vietnamese folk and religious melodies such as "Co Doi Thuong Ngan" to traditional Lao dances, the vibrant drum beats of the Latin American performance... All together created a cultural "harmony", where the audience clearly felt the spirit of integration and the celebration of global cultural diversity.

With the aim of honoring the value of cultural diversity and enhancing people-to-people exchange, the World Cultural Festival also demonstrates the spirit of solidarity and cooperation between Vietnam and international friends.

The event gathered 48 participating countries with: 45 national cultural spaces; 34 international culinary booths; 23 domestic and foreign art troupes; 12 units introducing books and publications; 22 countries participating in the international film screening program.
