Vice Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee, Do Anh Tuan, has just signed and issued a plan on coordinating the organization of the "Second World Culture Festival in Hanoi".
Accordingly, the festival will take place from October 1st to October 4th, 2026, with the Opening Ceremony on October 1st and the Closing Ceremony on October 4th. Activities will be held at Thang Long Imperial Citadel, Ho Guom Walking Street, and the Vietnam Ethnic Groups Cultural and Tourism Village.
This is an annual international cultural and diplomatic event, using "culture as the foundation and art as the means" to connect nations; thereby promoting people-to-people exchanges; strengthening mutual understanding and trust between Vietnam and the international community; and simultaneously enhancing the cultural and spiritual life and aesthetic level of the people of Hanoi in particular and the whole country in general.
The festival comprises eight key events, including the "Concert of Five Continents" music festival; the World Cultural Village; the "Colors of Five Continents" street festival; the "Food of Five Continents" festival; a film screening program; an experiential area "Spreading Creativity from Heritage with the International Games Festival"; tours and experiences at the Vietnam Ethnic Groups Cultural and Tourism Village; and other related activities.
The World Cultural Village is identified as the central activity, taking place from October 1st to 4th at Thang Long Imperial Citadel, under the auspices of the Hanoi People's Committee. Approximately 50 booths are expected, with one booth allocated to each country, and a Vietnamese cultural space showcasing traditional Vietnamese culture will be operated within the framework of the event.
The "Concert of Five Continents" music festival will take place within the framework of the festival from October 1st to 4th at Thang Long Imperial Citadel. The city will send art troupes to participate, develop performance programs, and coordinate the setup of stages, sound systems, and lighting to support the activities.
The "Colors of Five Continents" street festival will take place from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM on October 3rd at the Hoan Kiem Lake pedestrian street, Hoan Kiem ward. The event will include a parade of Vietnamese ao dai (traditional dress) combined with international costumes as directed by the Organizing Committee.
The "Food Festival of Five Continents" took place from October 1st to 4th at Thang Long Imperial Citadel. The culinary spaces were divided according to continents: Asia, Europe, America, Africa, and Oceania; each country had a booth showcasing its unique traditional cuisine.
The film screening program and experiential area "Spreading Creativity from Heritage with the International Games Festival" will also be held at Thang Long Imperial Citadel from October 1st to 4th.
In addition, a tour and experience program will be held at the Vietnam Ethnic Culture and Tourism Village on the morning of October 2nd in Doai Phuong commune. Delegates will have the opportunity to visit and learn about the distinctive cultural spaces of Vietnam's ethnic communities; interact with and learn about customs, traditions, and traditional crafts; and enjoy folk art and traditional cuisine.
