Following the initiative of Mrs. Ngo Phuong Ly, wife of General Secretary and President To Lam, the Organizing Committee continues to set the overall goal of successfully organizing the second World Culture Festival in Hanoi in 2026, building on the results of the first festival in 2025; affirming the role of the Festival as an important annual international cultural diplomacy event, using "culture as the foundation - art as the means" to connect nations, promote people-to-people exchanges; and enhance mutual understanding and trust between Vietnam and the international community.

With the theme " Convergence of Heritage - Shaping the Future ," the second World Cultural Festival in Hanoi is scheduled to open in October at Thang Long Imperial Citadel with events and activities taking place simultaneously and continuously over four days. The festival is linked to the 50th anniversary of Vietnam-UNESCO cooperation (1976-2026).

According to Nguyen Phuong Hoa, Director of the Department of International Cooperation (Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism), besides the opening and closing ceremonies, the central activity of the series of events is the World Cultural Village.

In these spaces, national areas are decorated to highlight the unique and attractive traditional cultural elements of each nation. The Vietnamese cultural space serves as a venue to showcase the culture and distinctive handicrafts of Vietnam in general, and Hanoi in particular, to both domestic and international visitors.

BTC also plans to set up a space for showcasing and demonstrating traditional folk games from Vietnam and other countries, creating an interactive space with the audience.

In addition, within the framework of the second World Cultural Festival, the Five Continents Music Festival will take place . The festival will continuously organize artistic performances with the participation of professional artist groups from many countries; collaborative performances and joint performances between artists from different countries; and performances using Vietnamese musical instruments in combination with international singers or foreign instruments to perform Vietnamese musical works.
