
In Hanoi, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (MOCST) recently held a meeting with diplomatic corps to provide information about the 2nd World Culture Festival in Hanoi. The meeting was attended by representatives from relevant departments and units of the MOCST, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Hanoi People's Committee; and representatives from diplomatic missions and international organizations in Vietnam.
Building upon the resounding success of the first festival in 2025, the second World Culture Festival in Hanoi will officially take place from October 1st to 4th, 2026 at Thang Long Imperial Citadel . Unlike the previous year, this year's event is themed "Convergence of Heritage – Shaping the Future," creating a special highlight to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Vietnam's membership in UNESCO.

This year's event continues to bring together nearly 50 countries, international organizations, and major businesses, thus affirming the enormous scale and strong influence of an international cultural festival. Thanks to its significantly larger scale and richer content compared to the first edition, the second World Culture Festival in Hanoi will feature 45 cultural spaces, 32 food stalls, film screenings from 18 participating countries, a fashion show area showcasing traditional costumes from 19 countries, and the presence of nearly 20 international art troupes, promising to ignite a multicultural musical exchange atmosphere throughout the days from October 1st to 4th, 2026. These impressive figures clearly demonstrate the festival's appeal and portray a comprehensive, diverse event spanning exhibitions, performances, food, film, fashion, music, and unique cultural experiences.
A highlight of this year's festival is the "Creative Spreading from Heritage" area – the International Games Festival, offering a fresh experience that blends historical and cultural values with technological and creative industry trends. The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism has collaborated closely with Vietnamese businesses to introduce, release, and operate video games deeply rooted in national history and culture, allowing people to directly explore heritage through modern interactive tools. In addition, stunning cosplay performances, interwoven with dance moves from the game Audition and spectacular LED visual effects, will undoubtedly create an extremely youthful, vibrant, and captivating atmosphere at the festival.
Thanks to the harmonious blend of heritage and creativity, tradition and contemporaneity, and between Vietnam and the world, the second World Culture Festival in Hanoi aimed for an open cultural space where cultures not only meet or share, but also cultivate strong bonds. Drawing from values preserved through generations to countless forms of contemporary creativity, the Festival painted a vibrant picture, reaffirming Hanoi as an international cultural destination where the essence of heritage, art, and creativity from both Vietnam and the international community converge and shine.
