On the afternoon of August 7th, in Hanoi, Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Ta Quang Dong, Deputy Head of the Steering Committee for the Second World Cultural Festival, chaired a working session with relevant units on the implementation and organization of the Festival. Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Ngo Le Van, a member of the Steering Committee, co-chaired the working session.

With the theme "Convergence of Heritage - Shaping the Future," the second World Cultural Festival in Hanoi is scheduled to open in October with events and activities taking place simultaneously and continuously over four days. The festival coincides with the 50th anniversary of the Vietnam-UNESCO cooperation (1976-2026).

The second festival continues to use the logo and brand identity that were approved and implemented at the first festival, in order to ensure consistency and enhance brand recognition for the World Cultural Festival in Hanoi .


The opening ceremony is scheduled to take place on October 1, 2026, and the closing ceremony on October 4, 2026, at Thang Long Imperial Citadel.

The festival includes artistic performances by professional groups from many countries; collaborative programs and performances between artists from different countries; the combination of Vietnamese musical instruments with foreign singers or the use of foreign musical instruments to perform Vietnamese works. Programs showcasing and introducing the distinctive musical instruments of each country are also organized.

The events taking place during the festival include: the "Concert of Five Continents" music festival; the World Cultural Village; the "Colors of Five Continents" street festival; the "Food of Five Continents" festival; film screenings; and an experience zone "Spreading Creativity from Heritage" with an international Games Festival.

According to the Department of International Cooperation (Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism), the Ministry has so far issued decisions on the organizational plan, established the Steering Committee and the Organizing Committee; and sent official letters to diplomatic missions, international organizations, and foreign cultural centers in Vietnam inviting them to send delegations to participate in the Festival.

Diplomatic missions, international organizations, and foreign cultural centers in Vietnam are invited to select cultural fields and products in which they have strengths, combining tradition and modernity; prioritizing cultural fields and products that have been loved, followed, and supported by the Vietnamese public...

This year's festival has initially received a positive response from international friends from all five continents, on a larger scale than the first edition. As of August 7th, 39 countries have confirmed their participation in the festival.
