According to Ms. Pham Thi Thanh Tra, heritage belongs not only to the past but is also present in life today and is a resource for building the future. When the heritages of each nation converge, differences in history, traditions, and expressions become part of the diversity of human culture.
Mr. Lazare Eloundou Assomo, Director of the UNESCO World Heritage Centre, assessed Thang Long Imperial Citadel as a suitable space for organizing festivals, as it reflects the continuous progress of political and cultural life over more than a millennium. According to him, events like festivals create opportunities for the public to directly experience a different culture through music, stories, handicrafts, and how culture is present in daily life.
The festival brings together 50 countries and international organizations, with 45 cultural spaces, 35 food stalls, film screenings from 18 countries, and art and fashion performances. Nineteen international art troupes with 220 artists from five continents are participating in the program.
The program features the participation of many Vietnamese artists, singers, and art groups such as Hoa Minzy, Duc Phuc, Hoang Bach, Truc Nhan, Vo Trong Phuc, Chu Bao Que, Ha Myo, Solo Drummer Truong Thu Ha, Bac Ninh Quan Ho Troupe, Hue Royal Court Traditional Arts Theatre, Central Highlands Gong Ensemble, Thanh Am Xanh Group, and GomShow. Associate Professor Dr. Ta Quang Dong, Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism, served as the artistic director and overall director of the program.
Following this was the "Convergence of Five Continents" segment, featuring art troupes from Azerbaijan, Bangladesh, China, Indonesia, Israel, South Korea, Laos, Pakistan, Peru, and Ukraine. Distinct sounds, dances, and artistic languages converged at Thang Long Imperial Citadel, creating a space for cultural exchange where each nation presented its own story and expression of culture.
The opening night concluded with performances by Hoa Minzy, Duc Phuc, Truc Nhan, Ha Myo, and Hoang Bach. The visual highlight was a 3D mapping projection on Doan Mon Gate, recreating Vietnamese cultural symbols, heritage, and landscapes in a multi-dimensional space.
