The meeting aimed to provide information on the program, content, organization, and main activities of the Festival; and to strengthen coordination with diplomatic missions in the preparation and implementation of activities.
Following the success of the first festival in 2025, the second World Culture Festival in Hanoi will take place from October 1st to 4th, 2026 at Thang Long Imperial Citadel , with the theme "Convergence of Heritage - Shaping the Future," to commemorate the 50th anniversary of Vietnam's membership in UNESCO.
This year's festival brings together participants from 50 countries, international organizations, and businesses, further affirming the growing scale and reach of this international cultural and diplomatic event. It provides an opportunity for cultures to meet, interact, and share unique values; while simultaneously promoting the image of Vietnam, Hanoi , and the country's cultural values and heritage to the international community.
This year's festival continues to promote the spirit of exchange, connection, and collaborative creativity through culture, while expanding in scale, diversifying content, and enriching the forms of experience. The activities are designed to create a vibrant cultural space where countries showcase their identities, heritage, and distinctive cultural values, while also opening up new opportunities for cooperation in the fields of culture, arts, tourism , and creative industries.
With a larger scale and more diverse content compared to the first festival, the second World Culture Festival in Hanoi features 45 cultural spaces, 35 food stalls; a film screening program with participation from 18 countries; a fashion space with traditional costumes submitted by 19 countries, along with the participation of 20 international art troupes. These activities promise to create a multicultural musical exchange space throughout the period from October 1st to 4th, 2026.
These figures demonstrate the growing appeal of the Festival, while also creating a comprehensive and diverse program encompassing exhibitions, performances, cuisine, film, fashion, music, and cultural experiences.
Within the framework of this year's festival, the "Spreading Creativity from Heritage - International Festival Games" area offers a new experiential space, connecting historical and cultural values with technology and creative industries.
The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, in collaboration with Vietnamese businesses, introduces, releases, and operates video games inspired by Vietnamese history and culture, creating opportunities for the public to directly experience and explore heritage through modern interactive forms. Cosplay performances, combined with dance moves from the Audition game and LED screen effects, create a youthful, vibrant, and engaging experience at the festival.
Through a blend of heritage and innovation, tradition and contemporaneity, Vietnam and the world, the second World Cultural Festival in Hanoi aims to create an open cultural space where cultures not only meet and share but also forge profound connections.
From values passed down through generations to contemporary creative forms, the Festival paints a colorful picture of culture, while affirming Hanoi as an international cultural destination, a place where the heritage, art, and creativity of Vietnam and the international community converge and spread.
The second World Cultural Festival in Hanoi is expected to create a cultural highlight in 2026, attracting the attention of the public and media both domestically and internationally. The festival contributes to making Hanoi – a UNESCO Creative City – a meeting point of diverse global cultures, where traditional values are celebrated, new innovations are disseminated, and bridges of friendship between Vietnam and the international community are strengthened.
