On the evening of October 1st, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (MOCST), the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the Hanoi People's Committee jointly organized the opening ceremony of the second World Culture Festival in Hanoi. Attending the event was the Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam and Deputy Prime Minister Pham Thi Thanh Tra .

Deputy Prime Minister Pham Thi Thanh Tra, Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Lam Thi Phuong Thanh, and other delegates visited the exhibition spaces of the countries participating in the festival.

Compared to its inaugural event, the 2026 festival has expanded in terms of the number of participating countries, venues, and types of activities. This year's program features 45 cultural spaces and 35 food stalls. The film screening program includes participation from 16 countries, while the fashion space has 19 countries submitting traditional costumes.

Deputy Prime Minister Pham Thi Thanh Tra assessed that the World Cultural Festival in Hanoi is a bridge to foster friendship, understanding, and trust among nations, working together to build a peaceful, humane, and sustainably developed world.

Mr. Lazare Eloundou Assomo, Director of the UNESCO World Heritage Centre, emphasized that the vitality of heritage lies in its ability to be continued and connected to people today. He highly appreciated Vietnam's efforts in connecting heritage with contemporary life. He argued that there is no more suitable space to organize the festival than Thang Long Imperial Citadel – where layers of archaeological remains spanning over a millennium reflect the continuous progress of political and cultural life.

Immediately following the ceremony, the opening art program began, embarking on a journey of discovery from the depths of Vietnam's cultural heritage to a space for international exchange.

The program is a blend of traditional heritage and contemporary artistic language, divided into three parts. Songs expressing pride in Vietnam and its people are elaborately staged, such as " Welcome to Vietnam , " " Bac Bling , " and " Made in Vietnam." My dear, please don't leave .

Following this, the multifaceted Vietnam fully recreates the identity of 54 ethnic groups through the performance " Mother's Lullaby ," a medley of folk songs from the three regions, Hue Royal Court Music, " Song of the Southern Land ," and the Quan Ho folk melodies of Bac Ninh.

At this festival, each country will bring its own unique identity, values, and modes of expression. However, when present in a shared space, the public can recognize similarities within this diversity.

The "Five Continents Come Together" performance showcased a vibrant blend of colors from international art troupes from China, Russia, Peru, Bangladesh, Indonesia, Pakistan, Israel, Azerbaijan, Laos, Ukraine, South Korea, and more, affirming the spirit of respect for the diversity of human cultures.

Many special activities will take place within the framework of the second World Culture Festival in Hanoi, such as the Five Continents Concert music festival, the Five Continents Colors street parade at Ho Guom pedestrian street, and tours and experiences at the Vietnam Ethnic Culture and Tourism Village.

Hundreds of professional and amateur artists, actors, dancers, and musicians, along with international art troupes, participated in cultural exchanges and performances, contributing to a vibrant and diverse cultural atmosphere.
